Jessica Van Meir of MintStars is this week’s guest on Adult Site Broker Talk.

Jessica Van Meir co-founded MintStars, an adult fansite and payments platform created to provide content creators with more control over their work and earnings.

Alongside her work with MintStars, Van Meir is pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her academic research examines sex workers’ rights in Latin America.

Van Meir is also a co-founder of the Boston Sex Workers and Allies Collective, which advocates for the full decriminalization of sex work across Massachusetts.

Prior to starting MintStars, she worked at a feminist law firm representing clients in cases involving sexual harassment, sex trafficking, and image-based sexual abuse.

MintStars combines adult content services with payment tools for creators. Its features include subscriptions, a content marketplace, tipping, and chat, while creators pay no platform fees and receive chargeback protection, immediate payouts, and limited content restrictions.

The platform recently launched a co-ownership initiative under which 20% of MintStars is owned by its content creators. The program allows creators to receive a portion of the platform’s profits in recognition of their contributions.

MintStars’ other co-founder has also launched MintCash as a separate payments business. MintCash brings pay-ins, treasury services, and payouts together on a single platform for businesses that frequently encounter higher fees or limited access to payment services.
