Alex Steel, alongside her husband Dan, founded KinkCoach, a UK-based ecosystem created to support women selling adult content online. Before stepping away to focus on building KinkCoach, Alex spent years selling content across many of the industry’s major platforms. Those experiences shaped her understanding of what new sellers often lacked when getting started. Determined to close those gaps, she set out to create the tools, guidance, and education she wished had been available during her own early days in the business.
Dan Steel serves as KinkCoach’s technical co-founder. Prior to launching the company, he operated several independent businesses in other industries, developing experience in building systems designed to function efficiently at scale.
As Alex navigated the realities of selling adult content, Dan began recognizing the industry’s structural shortcomings firsthand. Sellers were often expected to work everything out on their own, with little meaningful support from the platforms they relied on.
He noticed a recurring pattern. Many new sellers either burned out within their first six months or entered the industry without a clear understanding of what the work actually required. The need was obvious: the right tools simply weren’t there, and when solutions did exist, they were frequently designed by people with little direct knowledge of a seller’s day-to-day experience. Dan built the platform side of KinkCoach from the ground up. Today, he oversees engineering, infrastructure, automation, and system architecture, while Alex leads seller experience, education, and the company’s broader business strategy.
KinkCoach describes itself as the only end-to-end ecosystem built specifically for women selling adult content online that has been designed and operated by someone with firsthand experience as a seller.
